Colette Smit
Colette is een voedingswetenschapper en verkreeg een Master Humane voeding en epidemiologie in 2001 aan de Wageningen Universiteit. Na een korte periode gewerkt te hebben bij de afdeling infectieziekten epidemiologie bij het RIVM, is zij in 2002 gestart met haar promotietraject bij de Amsterdam Cohort Studies aan de GGD Amsterdam, resulterend in een proefschrift getiteld ‘25 years of HIV: Trends in mortality, HIV-coinfections, and HIV-related risk behaviour’.
Colette werkt sinds 2006 als senior researcher bij Stichting HIV Monitoring, waarbij de belangrijkste onderzoeksgebieden zijn: hiv co-infecties: virale hepatitis, kwaliteit van hiv-zorg, epidemiologie van hiv-infectie bij kinderen en zwangerschappen bij vrouwen die leven met hiv.
